175.6. I am DYING to get to the 10 lbs lost mark. I guess I should eat less on my feast days.
I'd pay good money to see Mary's Jackson Pollock phase. All I can say is: good luck. I haven't gotten the motivation to do anything but minor (and required) repairs to my house in months. I desperately need to do some painting. BUT IT'S SO HARD!!!! Bruce and OJ...heh.
^ Exactly. It's not like it's 1975 and they have to send a paper permission slip that may or may not make it home. They have mass text, mass phone, and email. There's no excuse not to fully communicate with parents, especially on something so important. Olivia was glad JP was in school yesterday, figuring she would have to duct tape the eclipse glasses to his head to get him to keep them on.
You could have at least tr aken a picture before you changed. RUDE!
i bet you looked cute. im sure you make jeans and tshirt look good too.
Well, I'm glad to know I'm not the only moron. I mean, um, you're not a moron! :D That is funny the cop was so useless. And, clearly my cute dress was about as useful as Donald Trump's reading glasses.
Yep. Done that. Worse, on one occasion I tightened them enough with the wrench while the car was still on the jack for it to be driveable, but forgot to fully tighten them. I think I’ve probably told the story before, so I’ll just say briefly that I went out that night, realised something was wrong a couple of miles from home, and headed back, stopping to tighten the nuts with my fingers whenever the wheel threatened to actually fall off, as at that time I never took any tools in the car (local thieves, damnit!). The icing on the cake was when a police car started following me, with the driver obviously assuming my meandering progress was due to drunkenness, and pulled me over. Bastard didn’t even help when I explained – he just drove off, laughing. It wouldn’t have happened if I’d been wearing a cute dress, I’m sure.
Pam, I remember that there was a partial solar eclipse when I was in junior school (I can’t remember what age I was – I shall have to look it up) and my Dad got a couple of pieces of fogged black and white negative film, taped them together for added security, and told me I had to make sure I looked through the double-thickness part. But his strong warnings must have unnerved me too much, as I didn’t dare watch it at all.
Oh, you're not guilty or a bad mother. I'd have assumed the same thing too. Quent's school actually sold the glasses to students for $1, and Aaron's school principal sent out an email last week saying "Send eclipse glasses with your kid or they can't watch it." We actually had 3 pairs given to us by a neighbor from the last eclipse in 2012, so we were covered. Fear not! There's another one in 2024! Every time I'd read a news story (usually from the Daily Mail) about how this was a "once in a lifetime" event, I rolled my eyes. It's like they're not even TRYING to science.
